TLBX Tools

Terms of Service

The short version: use the tools for their intended purpose, only process material you have the right to use, and remember that this is a personal project running on hardware that is sometimes off.

1.Agreeing to these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and TLBX Tools (“TLBX”, “we”, “us”), a personal, non-commercial project operated in Canada. By using tlbx.win or any of its tools you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the service.

2.What TLBX provides

TLBX is a collection of small utilities:

  • a video and audio downloader powered by yt-dlp;
  • an image, video and audio converter powered by ffmpeg;
  • a browser-only PDF toolkit;
  • temporary file shares with expiring links;
  • a speech transcription tool running on a private GPU computer;
  • a QR generator for TLBX accounts.

The tools are free. There is no subscription, no advertising and no paid tier. Only the QR generator requires an account, and that requirement applies to that tool alone.

3.Accounts and eligibility

You must be at least 13 and able to enter a binding agreement to create an account. You agree to give accurate information, to keep your password and sessions private, and to tell us if you believe someone else has access. One person should not operate accounts on behalf of others to get around limits.

A username is unique, is shown with the QR codes you create, and may not impersonate TLBX, its operators or another person, or contain unlawful or hateful material. We may require a username to be changed if it breaks these rules.

Signing in with Google attaches that Google identity to your TLBX account. Accounts are linked deliberately while signed in, never by matching email addresses alone.

4.Your responsibilities

  • Keep your credentials and devices secure, and sign out of shared devices.
  • Only upload, convert, download or transcribe material you own or have permission to use.
  • Follow the terms of the sites you download from, and any copyright or other rights that apply.
  • Do not rely on TLBX as the only copy of anything important.

5.Acceptable use

You may not use TLBX to:

  • break the law, infringe copyright or other rights, or distribute malware, phishing pages or fraudulent material;
  • create QR codes or shares that lead to phishing, scams, malware, unlawful content, or that misrepresent where a link goes;
  • harass, threaten, defame or expose another person’s private information;
  • probe, scan or overload the service, bypass rate limits or authentication, or use automated means to create accounts or bulk-generate codes;
  • use the processing hardware for cryptocurrency mining, unauthorised proxies, or any purpose unrelated to the tools offered;
  • resell the service or present it as your own.

Because the processing computer is a personal machine, automated or excessive use that degrades the service for others may be blocked without notice.

6.Files and content you provide

You keep ownership of the files you upload or the destinations and designs you enter. You give TLBX only the limited permission needed to store, convert, preview, archive or deliver that content so the tool can do what you asked. That permission ends when the file or record is deleted.

You are responsible for having the rights to the material you process. Do not upload confidential information you would not want processed on a private computer, and do not upload other people’s personal information without their consent.

7.QR codes, redirects and visitor passwords

A QR code encodes a permanent TLBX short link. You can change the destination later, pause the code, or set an expiry without reprinting it. The short code itself never changes and is never reused.

  • Accuracy. You are responsible for the destination. A code that points at unlawful, deceptive or harmful material may be paused or removed.
  • Visitor passwords are a convenience, not encryption. Anyone who has the password can reach the destination, and a determined visitor may guess a weak one. We rate-limit and lock repeated failures, but we cannot guarantee a password stays secret.
  • Expiry and recovery. An expired code stops resolving immediately and can be recovered for 30 days using the original link. After that it is permanently retired. Deleted codes cannot be recovered.
  • Availability of scans. Resolution runs on Cloudflare and Supabase, so it does not depend on the processing computer being on. It can still be affected by outages or by the code being printed badly, damaged, or scanned by a device with no network.
  • Account requirement. Creating and managing codes requires a verified TLBX account. Scanning one never does.

8.Temporary shares

Share links are public to anyone who has the link (plus the password, if you set one). Do not use a share as permanent storage or for material you are not allowed to distribute. Shares expire, and TLBX may remove one that breaks these terms. The files are held on private hardware, but a share link is not a secret.

9.Intellectual property

The TLBX name, site design and original code belong to the project. The tools build on open-source software, including yt-dlp, ffmpeg, PDF.js, pdf-lib, VoiceStudio and Supabase client libraries, which keep their own licences and credits. Nothing here transfers those licences to you beyond what each licence allows.

10.Availability and changes

TLBX runs on hardware that is started by hand. Tools can be offline, slow, or unavailable while that computer is off, restarting, or busy, and features may change, be limited or be removed. There is no service-level agreement and no guarantee that a tool, a format, a link or a stored file will remain available. Keep your own copy of anything you need.

11.Suspension and termination

We may suspend or remove an account, QR code or share that breaks these terms, threatens the service or puts other people at risk. You can delete your account at any time from the Account page. On deletion, QR codes stop working immediately and their identifiers are retired permanently.

12.Disclaimer

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability, to the fullest extent the law allows. TLBX does not review, endorse or take responsibility for destinations, files or content created through the tools.

13.Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TLBX and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost data, lost profits, or damage arising from your use of the service, from a link you created, or from a tool being unavailable. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid to use TLBX, which is nothing. Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumer protection law does not allow to be limited.

14.Privacy

What TLBX collects and how long it keeps it is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

15.Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Canada and of the province or territory in which the operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts there have jurisdiction over disputes, without affecting any right you have to bring a claim where you live.

16.Changes to these terms

These terms may change as the tools change. The date at the top shows the current version, and material changes affecting accounts will be noted on the account page. Continuing to use TLBX after a change means you accept the updated terms.
